Sunflower

After reading a depressing story I wrote, I decided to post something happy. Something Bright. So I thought about what is happy and bright? I thought of sunflowers. Though this picture is not colorful, I thought it was gorgeous. I took this photo the day after opening night of my show, Beauty and the Beast Jr. My cousin, Alex, gave them to me. She was so sweet! It was the first time I had gotten flowers after a show. It made me feel all warm and bubbly on the inside.
I got bored one day and decided to do some editing to a few of my pictures that needed edited. I very much like the way this one turned out.

I researched the meaning of a sunflower and this is what I found, and liked it :)

History and Meaning of Sunflowers

by Samantha Green

Primary Significance: Gifts of radiant warmth, sunflowers are the happiest of flowers, and their meanings include loyalty and longevity. They are unique in their ability to provide energy in the form of nourishment and vibrance, an attribute which mirrors the sun and the energy provided by its heat and light.

Two Peas In a Pod

Two peas in a pod

What we do share, you may ask
What is it that keeps us together?
Does anything ever step in the way?
I shall tell you, the secrets is ours to share

We are like two peas in a pod,
We are as close as could be
We are best of friends,
And we let nothing get in the way

With the love of Christ,
We can share,
We can talk,
We understand,
And most important, we love

We are there for each other,
We lend a shoulder when times get rough,
We are like two peas in a pod
With the love of Christ

Character description: John Dun

For writing class, we had to make up a character from the western and write a  good description on him/her. Mine is about a man named John Dun, engaged to Chloe.
As Chloe stood, she watched her fiance, John Dun, handle the cattle. He stood tall and handsome. As she looked at his face, she saw a man full of confidence. When he smiled, his jaw and cheeks would form the most stunning smile. She stared at his jaw line and saw how strong and sturdy it looked. Because John was a rancher, his skin was authentically tan. His eyes are a deep blue that set off his facial features.
The rope circled around and around, creating a soft whooshing sound, and landed around the neck of a big black bull. As the rope tightened, the sweat on the bull gleamed in the sun. John's muscular arms flexed as soon as the rope was tight and the bull tried to get away.
When John held her in his arms, she felt safe, and very protected. When she stood close to him, the smell of his aftershave floated in the air. John had a unique personality. He was smart, funny, sweet, kind, loving, very romantic, and most of all, he loved God with all his heart. Her man was so many things and she could hardly wait to be his wife.
When John had the bull under control, he looked over at her and caught her staring at him. He smiled and waved to her. When ever he gave her one of his drop-dead gorgeous smiles, her heart skipped a beat and she got goosebumps all over her arms. She was the luckiest woman to have such an amazing man, soon to be husband.

Jenny Rash

For writing class our assignment was to write the past or future of a stranger we see somewhere during the week. This is about a young girl I saw at Starbucks. I have no idea what her story is, so this is all made up.

Jenny Rash has beautiful blue eyes, and soft honey colored hair. She is four foot seven inches tall. she has an adorable face and personality. She is rasied by her single mother, Amanda Rash. She has had a very hard life. Her mother tries her hardest to support them, but it sometimes is not enough. Her father ran off when she was five years old. She hardly remembers him and she despises him for leaving. Jenny can not understand why her own father would leave her and her mother. Even though she is only eight, she can remember that day her father left. Every single detail, every word he said to he before he left.
When she was two, it was the best time of her life. She loved her daddy dearly. They would have the best picnics, the best walks, the best hikes, the best daddy daughter dates, and they had the most amazing bed time stories. She loved his laugh so much, that when he told her a funny joke, all she could wait for was his laugh. It was music to her ears.
Over the next year, Jenny's father changed. He changed so much that she never heard him laugh again. She cried herself to sleep when he would hit her before bed, or when she didn't obey him. She loved him so much still that she clung to the hope that he would remember all the fun they had together. She longed for him to hold her gently in his arms and sing her to sleep. But most of all, Jenny wanted to hear her father say, "I love you Jenny."
The day of Jenny's 5'th birthday was the worst day of her life. When she woke up, she ran to see her parents and tell them that she loved them and tell them that it was her birthday. She raced to her parents room and burst in with a huge grin. She could hardly contain her excitement. When she looked around the room, she saw a sight that she would never forget. She saw her father hitting her mother so hard that there was blood every where. She was horrified. As soon as she screamed, her fathers movements ceased. With tears streaming down her face, she ran to help her mom. To help the one parent who truly loved her. The man she once loved and called father, walked away. That was when she knew that he was out of her life forever. She knew that he would never come back, never tell her that he loved her and she would never hear the melodious sound of his laughter ever again.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you"
When I read this verse, it makes me try harder to do just what it says. Even though it may be hard at times, we need to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks no mater what. Being thankful in all circumstances is not the easiest thing. Especially when life isn't going like you want it, or you are going through a really hard time. But with the help, love and grace of God, you will be able to accomplish that. I know I fail at times but He is always there to forgive me and carry me through it.

Hebrews 4:15-16

Hebrews 4:15-16
"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
This verse is a wonderful reminder to me. It lets me know that Jesus was temped, just like us, but he never gave into sin. I like verse 16 a lot. It just lets me know that I can come to His throne of grace and find grace and mercy, even though I fell into sin. This verse comforts me in rough times, or when things aren't going well for me.
